Profile: The Instituto Homeopático y Hospital San José was founded in 1878 by Dr. José Núñez Pernía, Marquis of Núñez. The most important building, the homoeopathic hospital, was sponsored by the Hahnemann Foundation of Madrid (founded in 1845) and is being catalogued as monument of cultural importance, a total restoration and rehabilitation has been done. In this building there is, besides the residence for the elderly, a homoeopathic clinic and a charity, accessible for the doctors of the Hahnemann Foundation of Madrid, and acupuncture query. Conferences, courses and seminars on homoeopathy are being organised.
This is an eminentl historical library containing books of the eighteenth and nineteenth century. The library of the foundation is currently being catalogued to facilitate the classification and access.
