Integrative Medicine & Health

On May 15-18, 2012 the Consortium of Academic Health Centers for Integrative Medicine will host the third International Research Congress on Integrative Medicine and Health at the Portland Marriott Downtown Waterfront.

Integrative Medicine is the practice of medicine that reaffirms the importance of the relationship between practitioner and patient, focuses on the whole person, is informed by evidence, and makes use of all appropriate therapeutic approaches, healthcare professionals and disciplines to achieve optimal health and healing.  We expect more than 1,000 researchers, clinicians, and trainees from around the world to attend.  The organizers invite all disciplines and professions engaged in integrative medicine and health to attend.

IRCIMH’s mission is to foster the development of new collaborations and to strengthen existing partnerships.   This Congress will showcase original scientific research through eight keynote and plenary sessions, oral and poster presentations, and innovative sessions.  Areas of Integrative  medicine and health research presented and discussed at the Congress will include basic science, clinical trials, lifestyle and prevention, methodology, health services, cost effectiveness, and education.  The Consortium is committed to making this meeting an international focal point for this wealth of talent and resources.
